9. New Balance x Nice Kicks 1500
Texas-based sneaker boutique Nice Kicks helped round off 2011 with their third collaborative effort, featuring the popular New Balance 1500 model.
Opting for a simple mix of tonal grey leather and suede, red accents and 3M reflective panelling, designer Matt Halfhill credits Mercedes and Porsche design as the inspiration behind the Nice Kicks colour way.
Taking the number nine spot, the Nice Kicks 1500 is easily one of the best collaborative projects undertaken by New Balance this year, resulting in a timeless, staple piece of footwear with all the necessary credentials of a retailer collab.
