Throughout their short existence Palace Skateboards have continued to carve out their own niche in the somewhat stagnant UK scene; amassing a cult following, receiving ‘Brand of the Year’ at the first ever European Skate Awards and producing a stunningly original collaboration with sports giant Umbro along the way.
Championed by a tight-knit group of skaters and friends with strong ties to Slam City and the London skate scene, the Palace movement smacks of the raw authenticity of early Supreme and the days of less-diluted counterculture.
Building on their success, the next stop for Palace is their first ever physical retail space, presented in the form of a pop-up, or more precisely ‘Pop-Off’ store situated on Stoke Newington high street. Coinciding with the launch of the Palace webstore on the 10th, the ‘Pop-off’ Store opened today (Friday 7th) and will run for one week only.
We dropped by the store to grab some snaps and to pick up a few bits also, and it has to be said the quality and attention to detail is definitely on point.
