House of Innovation

Nike+ House of Innovation at Selfridges

Last week Nike launched their House of Innovation within London’s Selfridges store.

The House of Innovation is set to occupy the Ultra Lounge for the next month and as the name might suggest is a showcase of the brand’s latest performance based technology.

As well as a solid offering of the brands NSW apparel collection visitors will be able to get a look at some of the performance led apparel that will be sported by the USA national team during the London 2012 games later this month.

The two main elements of the space are the continued campaign of the Fuelband and the new Nike+ ESP footwear which tracks your movements in the gym or on the basketball court through drills and tests. People who aren’t ready to drop £200 on a pair of trainers can have all their questions answered by trying out the footwear and competing against all the other visitors who’ve participated.

Without a doubt the most exciting part of the space for us are the Volt Flyknits nestled quietly in the corner, set for release on 27th July. Each week following will see a new colour way of the Flyknit being released at the space. Word even has it there could be a Selfridges exclusive or two in there as well.

The Nike+ House of Innovation is currently open daily until 12th August at the Selfridges Ultra Lounge, Oxford Street, London.

GoPro: A Day in the Life of Ryan Sheckler

YouTube Preview Image

GoPro follow Ryan Sheckler around New York City to show off their new, Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote Combo Kit.

I’m not sure how many of us might ever get to set up 50 GoPro cameras around a city but if we could I’m sure the ability to control them by remote or by our phone, via the GoPro app, would be amazing.

In the meantime we’ll just have to enjoy Sheckler doing it instead, which is still pretty good.

The GoPro Wi-Fi BacPac & Remote combo kit is available from GoPro.com now.

Carling Zest Summer Bottled App

To help launch their new limited edition summer beer Carling have called upon legendary artists DJ Yoda, DJ Food and Jaguar Skills to produce their own summer mash-ups to help launch their Carling Zest beer. The tracks are made using only  a variety of sounds the artists think define summer. DJ Yoda’s track is above, DJ Food and Jaguar Skills’ cuts, as well as behind-the-scenes bonus footage, can be found here.

After you’ve heard theirs you can have a go at making your own summer inspired mash-up on the YouTube app here. I didn’t even know YouTube apps like this existed, but they do, and by using it you could end up in winning some tickets to V Festival.

If YouTube isn’t your thing you can download it on your iPhone/iPad.

Make it Count by Casey Neistat

Obviously it’s impossible to believe that Nike would have had no idea about the film Casey Neistat was planning on making when they gave him one of their new Fuelband‘s and a wad of cash.  That said the resulting film is something pretty special.

Gorilla tactics at their finest but pretty flawless none the less, enjoy this.

Lego Moleskine

Lego for Moleskine Notebooks

There’s already enough notebooks around our studio to last us all three lifetimes but that definitely won’t stop us getting involved in these.

Maybe two of the best brands ever coming together.  I’ve always had a soft spot for Lego and now I’ll have somewhere to keep my Lego based build plans (big plans).

These official Lego for Moleskine notebooks are going to be available from March on Amazon.

Century Optics iPhone

iPro Lens System for iPhone

This is actually too much.  People that have been involved in anything action sports pre DSLR era will understand the importance of this product and everyone else should just think it’s really good.

Produced by Schneider Optics, yes, the company that bought us the Century Optics Fisheye aka the Death Lens, this case and lens combo for the iPhone 4 and 4s.

The package includes a professional quality fisheye and wide-angle lenses which come in a cleverly designed case/stand/handle.

The fisheye lens captures a 165 degree field of view while the wide-angle lens gets 35% more coverage of the area in front of you.

The entire system will only cost you $199 and is available here.

There’s a modern day classic VX/Death Lens vid below and under that, maybe more importantly is a video of the lens system being demonstrated at Macworld 2012.

Even though it’s from 2011 let’s give some love Garrett Reynolds, the Fiend BMX crew and their love for the VX and the Death Lens.

And here’s the video showing the lenses being used…
